Camille Maximilien Frédéric de Renesse-Breidbach (born July 9, 1836 in Brussels , † June 12, 1904 in Nice ) was a Belgian count , pioneer, entrepreneur and author.

Count de Renesse came from a family of counts of Belgian aristocracy and was born in Brussels in 1836. On November 10, 1868 he married the Countess Malvina de Kerkove von Deterghem .

When Count de Renesse was in the Engadine to relax in 1880 , his vision arose to build a huge hotel complex with a grand hotel , swimming pools and golf courses for the European aristocracy . He then bought 140 hectares of land on Lake Sils in Maloja . Between 1882 and 1884 he made his dream come true with the construction of the Hôtel Kursaal de la Maloja (now Maloja Palace ).
