Camp Jackson (Korea)
Camp Jackson is a US Army base about 20 miles south of the city of Uijeongbu at the narrowest point of the so-called Uijeungbu Corridor on National Highway 3 near Dobong-gu , a suburb of Seoul , South Korea .
Camp Jackson is the smallest military facility of the US Forces Korea (USFK) and a branch of Camp Red Cloud , about 20 minutes away by car , the headquarters of the 2nd US Infantry Division , the core unit of the 8th US Army .
The base is named after Private First Class George W. Jackson , who was awarded the Silver Star in the Korean War .
