The daisy-leaved bellflower ( Campanula bellidifolia ) is a species of bellflower ( Campanula ) in the bellflower family (Campanulaceae).
features
The daisy-leaved bellflower is a possibly evergreen, perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 10 to 15 centimeters. The species forms a Pleiokorm turnip. The basal sheets are oval-spatulate. The calyx lobes are 1/5 to 1/6 as long as the crown. The calyx appendages are longer than the calyx tube. The crown is blue-violet, glabrous, key-shaped and 1 to 1.5 centimeters long.
The flowering time is in June; in some cases it begins as early as May and lasts until July.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 34.
Occurrence
The daisy-leaved bellflower occurs in the Central Caucasus on subalpine to alpine mats and rocks.
Systematics
One can distinguish between two subspecies:
- Campanula bellidifolia subsp. bellidifolia : It occurs in the central Caucasus.
- Campanula bellidifolia subsp. besenginica (Fomin) Victorov (Syn .: Campanula besenginica Fomin ): It occurs in the central and west-central North Caucasus.
use
The daisy-leaved bellflower is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens. It has been in culture since 1828 at the latest.
