Campanula pinatzii is a species of bellflower ( Campanula ) in the bellflower family(Campanulaceae). It belongs to the subgenus Roucela .

features

Campanula pinatzii is an annual stem therophyte that reaches heights of 4 to 14 centimeters. The plant is hairy or coarse. The main axis of the stem is short, the side branches are elongated and prostrate. The leaves and bracts are entire or notched.

When the fruit is ripe, the calyx lobes are erect or bow together. The crown is broadly bell-shaped and 9 to 13 millimeters in size. The tube has a diameter of 5 to 6 millimeters. The anthers are 3 millimeters long.

The flowering period extends from April to May.

Occurrence

Campanula pinatzii is an endemic, widespread species of the islands of Karpathos , Saria and Kasos . The species grows on rocks, in Phrygana and in other open forms of vegetation on limestone and marl at altitudes from 0 to 800 meters.

etymology

The species is dedicated to the Greek botanist Leonidas Pinatzis (* 1891; † August 28, 1964).
