The Campbell Crest is the highest elevation of the Bowditch Crests with 1670 m . It rises at the western end of this mountain range on the Bermel Peninsula on the Bowman Coast in Graham Land in West Antarctica .
Aerial photographs were taken during overflights by the Australian polar explorer Hubert Wilkins in 1928 and the US polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth in 1935. Ellsworth's photos were used in 1937 by the US geographer WLG Joerg for rough mapping. Further aerial photographs were taken in 1940 during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) and in 1966 by the United States Navy . The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a geodetic survey in 1958. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 1993 after Jon C. Campbell, geographer of the United States Geological Survey and member of the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names .
