Coordinates: 33 ° 53 ′  S , 151 ° 15 ′  E The Campbelltown City is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . Campbelltown is part of the metropolis of Adelaide , the capital of South Australia. The area is 24 km² and has about 50,000 inhabitants (2016).

Campbelltown borders Adelaide city ​​center to the west . The area includes eight neighborhoods: Athelstone, Campbelltown, Hectorville, Magill, Newton, Paradise, Rostrevor, and Tranmere. The administrative headquarters of the council is located in the Rostrevor district, where about 7,750 people live (2016).

Burnside City Council has 14 members. Nine councilors are elected by the residents of the five wards (two each from Newton, Gorge, Hectorville and Woodforde, one from the River Ward). These five districts are determined independently of the districts. Four further council members as well as the chairman and mayor (mayor) are elected by all residents of the city.
