history
Campelos is one of the youngest small towns, it was only founded in 1945. Until then it was a district of Santa Maria do Castelo de Torres Vedras (German: Holy Mary of the Castle of Torres Vedras). At the beginning of the 20th century, a significant development was initiated: first the construction of the Church of Santo António (1910), the construction of the primary school (1949), later running water and electricity (1968).
After many efforts and efforts by the population, including through community service, Campelos became a small town in 1995 .
