content

The series is about the life of the eponymous police commander Candice Renoir, played by Cécile Bois . Renoir grew up in the northern French city of Valenciennes . She had taken a ten-year break from the police force in order to be able to accompany her husband Laurent, a successful manager, on his professional posts around the world. The family had last lived in Singapore. After separating from Laurent, she returns to the police service and becomes team leader at the homicide squad in Sète .

At first she struggles with the hostility of her new team. In particular, Capitaine Antoine Dumas initially goes on an open confrontation with Renoir. Before Renoir's return, he had temporarily headed the team for a month and trusted Police Director Yasmine Attia's promise that he would continue to lead the team in the future. Only the forensic scientist Pascale Ibarruri is not quite as hostile towards Renoir. After a bet, however, Renoir manages to gain the respect of her team.

Her children Emma, Jules and the twins Martin and Léo cause a stir outside of work. Renoir tries to reconcile her job as a policewoman and the role of a single mother and receives help from the au pair girl Laurette and her neighbor Hervé.

A recurring element are the sudden inspirations that Candice Renoir receives during everyday situations in her home environment and which - associated with her current case - help to resolve the case. Often it is a discarded sentence from your children from a completely different context.
