history

According to Michele, Cannonball was initially not in the selection for her debut album. In an interview with the broadcaster MTV , she spoke about the title and its effect on her in the time after the death of her friend Cory Monteith and about the decision to finally record the song for her album:

The minute I heard the song, I had a physical reaction to it. For me, it's been my strength. I listen to it every day. I know it was brought into my life for a reason. It just really explains where I am right now and it's been such an inspirational song for me. It's been such a rock, such a source of strength for me. It's really been so helpful for me and I hope it's the same for other people as it's been for me.

It just really explains where I am right now and it was such an inspiring song for me. It was such a stone, such a source of strength for me. It was really so helpful to me and I hope it is just as much for other people as it is for me. "
