The Canopus Crags are a group of mountains in Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . They stretch for 5 km between Vela Bluff and Carina Heights along the southern flank of the Ryder Glacier .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the group on July 21, 1976 after the star Canopus .
