Cansel Kiziltepe ( Turkish Cansel Kızıltepe ; born October 8, 1975 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( SPD ), economist , and since 2013 a member of the German Bundestag (MdB).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Cansel Kiziltepe studied at the Technical University of Berlin and graduated in 2001 with a degree in economics. She then worked for the German Institute for Economic Research and the DGB . From 2005 to 2012 Cansel Kiziltepe was a personal advisor to the Bundestag member Ottmar Schreiner . Most recently she worked for the Volkswagen Group and was responsible for economic analyzes on the Labor Director's staff.

Cansel Kiziltepe is the mother of two children. Her father came to Germany from Turkey in the 1960s.

politics

Cansel Kiziltepe has been a member of the SPD since 2005. In the general election in 2013 she stood as a candidate in the constituency of Berlin-Friedrichshain - Kreuzberg - Prenzlauer Berg East and was compared to the 2009 election the result of the first votes from 16.7% to 18.0% and the result of the second vote of 20.2% improve to 24.0%. She was elected to the German Bundestag at number five on the state list of the Berlin SPD . In the election campaign, she spoke out early on in favor of opening up the SPD to the Die Linke party.

In the 19th German Bundestag , Cansel Kiziltepe is a member of the finance committee and, since September 2015, has been the deputy spokeswoman for financial policy for the SPD parliamentary group. She is also a member of the sports committee .

Cansel Kiziltepe has been the managing director of the “ Tax myths ” project since August 2015, she is also the owner of the domain steuermythen.de . This project is supported by SPD members of the Bundestag and aims to open and objectify the tax policy debate in Germany on a scientific basis.

International fame

With his Le Monde article Mme Kiziltepe, candidate issue de l'immigration (Ms. Kiziltepe, candidate who comes from immigration), Frédéric Lemaître introduced the current member of the Bundestag to the francophone audience before the 2013 federal election . She was presented by Lemaître as a candidate who will particularly campaign for equal opportunities and the minimum wage. The Franco-German blogger Christophe Neff described the candidate as the SPD's hope.

Social Commitment

Cansel Kiziltepe is a member of IG Metall , the Arbeiterwohlfahrt , the Berlin tenants' association, the Möckernkiez association and a member of the board of trustees of the Berlin Cancer Society.
