Cao Dan ( Chinese  曹 丹 , Pinyin Cáo Dān ; * 1960 in Wuhan , Hubei Province ) is a contemporary Chinese painter.

Life

Cao Dan graduated from the Hubei Art College in Wuhan in 1982 . In addition to his work as a freelance artist, he now works at his former training facility as an art professor. Cao Dan has been working on a series called the Butterfly Effect for some time . This title refers to the short story A Sound of Thunder (1952) by Ray Bradbury . The story is that when a butterfly flaps its wings it causes a series of great changes. Cao Dan projects this idea onto the contemporary change in the world economy and the sudden resistance to the title Made in China and the associations that it evokes. In Chinese culture, the butterfly is seen as an analogy of female consciousness. Cao Dan Butterfly Effect's series features women penetrating the male area of products. The works of art are painted in Cao Dan's typical style, for which bright colors are characteristic.
