The Capanna Alpe Saléi is a refuge in the municipality of Comologno in the Swiss canton of Ticino in the Lepontine Alps at an altitude of 1777 m above sea level. M. It is situated on the same alp between the Pizzo Zucchero 1899 m above sea level. M. and the Creste 2060 m above sea level. M.
History and description
One of the no longer used alpine huts on the Alpe Saléi was converted into a public mountain hut. The hut was inaugurated in 1994. It is privately run and is manned throughout the season.
The stone hut has bedrooms on the upper floor and a lounge for around 20 people on the lower floor. The kitchen has a wood and gas stove. It is only used by the hut caretaker team who prepare regional dishes for guests. The power supply for the lighting is provided by solar cells . The 16 beds are spread over three rooms. It has an outside terrace with tables and a fountain.

- Saléi Vecchi 1748 m above sea level M .: Saléi Vecchi can be reached from Zòtt (Vergeletto) by cable car . The walking time is five minutes to the hut.

- Long-distance hike Spruga - Bosco Gurin : starting point Spruga or Capanna Alpe Salei: 1st stage via Passo del Bùsan to Capanna Alple Arena in 3 ½ hours, 2nd stage via Passo della Cavegna to Rifugio La Reggia Cimalmotto in 4½, 3rd stage Passo Quadrella to Capanna Grossalp in 3 hours or Bosco Gurin in 4 hours. The walking time for the 26-kilometer route over three passes with a 2200 meter ascent and 1800 meter descent is a total of 12 hours (level of difficulty T2).
