Comologno was until January 1, 1995 a municipality in the Onsernone district , in the Locarno district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

geography

At 1085 m above sea level M. located, 26 km from Locarno . In addition to the village of Comologno, the former municipality included the districts of Vocaglia, Corbella, Cappellino and Spruga (the last village in the valley before the border with Italy ).

history

The village is mentioned as a Comolognium in 1438 . During the Ancien Régime the village belonged to the Squadra Crana, which together with the other villages of the valley (with the exception of Auressio ) formed the community of Onsernone, which dates back to the Middle Ages. With the establishment of the Canton of Ticino in 1803, Comologno became an independent municipality.

Community merger

It merged with Crana and Russo to form Onsernone municipality . The municipality includes the localities of Spruga, Monti di Spruga and Bagni di Craveggia.
