Until April 9, 2016, Mosogno was a political municipality in the Onsernone district , in the Locarno district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland . On April 10, 2016, Mosogno merged with the municipalities of Vergeletto , Isorno and Gresso to form the political municipality of Onsernone .
geography
Mosogno is located in the upper Valle Onsernone . The municipality consists of the three fractions Barione , Chiosso and Mosogno . Neighboring municipalities are Centovalli , Isorno and Onsernone .
history
The village was first mentioned in 1277 as Mosogno . By 1803, Mosogno was one of the five squadrons that had been part of the old valley community of Onsernone since the Middle Ages.
