From 2001 to 2016, Isorno was a political municipality in the Onsernone district , in the Locarno district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland .

geography

Isorno was the most populous municipality in the Onsernone Valley . It got its name from the Isorno river of the same name , which flows from the Valle Vigezzo through the entire Onsernone Valley.

history

It was created in 2001 from the merger of the former municipalities of Auressio , Berzona and Loco and was at that time the most populous municipality in the Onserone Valley with 380 inhabitants. On April 10, 2016, Isorno merged with the municipalities of Vergeletto , Mosogno and Gresso to form the political municipality of Onsernone .
