The district of Locarno ( Italian Distretto di Locarno , colloquially Locarnese , formerly Landvogtei Luggarus ) is a district of the Swiss canton of Ticino . The main town is Locarno .
The district is divided into the seven circles (circoli)
with a total of 23 communities.
