Until December 31, 2007, the district was divided into the Cercles (dt. Circles) Begnins , Gingins , Coppet and Nyon .
The district consisted of 32 municipalities until the end of 2007, was 232.05 km² in size and had 65,832 inhabitants (end of 2006).
