Avenches district
The District d'Avenches (dt. District Avenches) was until December 31, 2007 an administrative unit of the canton of Vaud in Switzerland .
The main town was Avenches . The district was divided into the two cercles (dt. Circles) Avenches and Cudrefin .
The district consisted of eleven communities, was 59.91 km² in size and had 6,601 inhabitants (end of 2006). On July 1, 2006, the municipalities of Donatyre and Avenches were merged to form Avenches.
