Vairano was an independent political municipality in the Locarno district , in the canton of Ticino , in Switzerland . In 1930 Vairano merged with the municipality of Casenzano to form the municipality of San Nazzaro , which in turn became part of the municipality of Gambarogno in 2010 .

geography

The village is 335 m above sea level. M. on a terrace 138 m above the left bank of Lake Maggiores and one kilometer south of the San Nazzaro TI station on the Cadenazzo – Luino line of the Swiss Federal Railways .

history

The village of Vairano with Casenzano was a municipality before 1670 and merged with Casenzano in 1929 to form the new municipality of San Nazzaro TI .
