The county Melezza together with the circles Gambarogno , Isole , Locarno , Navegna , Onsernone and Verzasca the district of Locarno in the Swiss Canton of Ticino . The seat of the district office is in Verscio .

The Melezza district includes the middle and lower part of the Melezza valley , thus the Centovalli and Pedemonte regions .

Community merger
In 2011, the three municipalities of the Pedemonte, Cavigliano, Tegna and Verscio region decided to merge into the new municipality of Terre di Pedemonte in the second attempt . A first attempt failed in a consultative referendum in 2002. The merger took place in the course of 2013 after the election of the new municipal council on April 14, 2013.
