Cugnasco is a fraction of the political municipality Cugnasco-Gerra in the Navegna district , in the Locarno district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland . This includes the hamlet of Agarone .

geography

Cugnasco is on the northern edge of the Magadino plain . The Ticino flows through the southernmost tip.

State

There is also a civil parish in Cugnasco . The public corporation consists of members of the following families in particular : Barbettini, Calzascia, Giulieri, Pellascio.

Merger project

In 2004/2005 a merger with Gerra Verzasca (piano) and Gerre di Sotto (part of the city of Locarno ) to the municipality of Cugnasco-Gerra failed . The previously independent municipality was merged with Gerra (Verzasca) on April 20, 2008 to form the new municipality of Cugnasco-Gerra.
