Parish before the merger on April 14, 2013

Until April 13, 2013, Tegna was a political municipality in the Melezza district , in the Locarno district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland . On April 14, 2013 Tégna was merged with Cavigliano and Verscio to form the new municipality of Terre di Pedemonte .

geography

Tegna is located in the lower Onsernone Valley . The municipality of Ponte Brolla belongs to the municipality . Until the merger, the neighboring communities were Avegno TI , Locarno , Losone and Verscio.

history

On September 22nd, 2002 a consultative vote took place on the merger project of the municipalities of Tegna, Verscio and Cavigliano to form the new municipality of Terre di Pedemonte . The project was abandoned after the Tegna voters voted against it.
