Tommaso Rima

Tommaso Antonio Gianini Rima (born December 11, 1775 in Mosogno , † February 26, 1843 in Venice ) was a Swiss physician.

Life

Tommaso Rima was the son of Giacomo Antonio Rima and his wife Maria Zaveria (née Picchioni).

He attended schools in Locarno and Lugano and in 1793 went to Rome for further studies , where he received his doctorate in 1796. med. and became Dr. of surgery.

In 1799 he entered French services and, as major, was chief surgeon of the military hospitals in Modena in 1803 and of the military hospitals in Milan in 1807 ; in the same year he received the Italian citizenship and there was also his appointment as chief surgeon of all military hospitals in the Kingdom of Italy .

In 1808 he was appointed professor of surgery at the military hospital Sant'Ambrogio in Milan before January 1, 1811. Scientific work
