Cape Kogot ' ( English , Russian Мыс Коготь Mys Kogot , German ' Klauenkap ' ) is a cape on the coast of the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It is located 3 km east of the Russian Molodjoschnaja station on the bank of Alasheev Bay in the Thala Hills area .
Aerial photographs were taken in 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions and in 1957 during a Soviet Antarctic expedition . Soviet scientists named it descriptively after its appearance. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated this designation into a transcribed partial translation into English.
