The Cappelenbotnen is an icy cirque in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . The mountain basin lies between Mount Wrighthamaren and the mountain ridge Berggravrista in northern Sivorgfjella .
Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named him in 1967 after the Norwegian lawyer Johann Cappelen (1889–1947), a leader of the resistance against the German occupation of Norway in World War II .
