Capshaw , also known as Lux , is a civil parish in Limestone County in the state of Alabama in the United States .

Capshaw is located in northern Alabama in the southern United States. It is about 15 miles south of the Tennessee border .
Nearby places include Huntsville (surrounds the town), Madison (3 km south), Harvest (6 km north), Athens (7 km west) and Meridianville (18 km northeast).
history
The assumptions about the origin of the name are different. For one thing, it is said that the place was named after an early local family. It is more likely that the name comes from the language of the Chickasaw and is derived from the words bok kapassa (German: Kalter Bach ) or oka kapassa (German: cold water ). In 1918 a post office was opened.
