Carl-Peter Bauer

Carl-Peter Bauer (born March 31, 1951 ) is a German pediatrician .

Career

Bauer studied human medicine at the Medical Faculty in Düsseldorf (1970–1973) and the Technical University of Munich (1973–1976) and graduated in 1977 with a doctorate on a long-term electroencephalographic study during initial therapy for childhood leukosis .

He was initially a medical assistant at the gynecological clinic at the Technical University of Munich and the Höhenried clinic of the Upper Bavaria State Insurance Institute. From 1978 to 1983 he was an assistant doctor at the children's clinic at the Technical University of Munich. In 1980 he was a visiting physician at the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.

After habilitation in 1983 at the Technical University of Munich for pediatrics, he was head of the Schwabing Children's Polyclinic at the Technical University of Munich from 1984 to 1989 and Medical Director of the Gaißach Clinic of the German Pension Insurance Bavaria South from 1989 to 2019 .

In 1990 he became an adjunct professor at the Technical University of Munich. From 1992 to 2019 he held the endowed chair for child rehabilitation there.
