Carl Auböck (architect)

Carl Auböck (born January 6, 1924 in Vienna ; † February 3, 1993 there ) was an Austrian industrial designer and architect.

Life

Carl Auböck was born as the son of the painter and designer of the same name, Carl Auböck , and studied architecture at the Technical University of Vienna and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . Between 1950 and 1955 he taught as an assistant to Jaro Merinsky at the Institute for Architecture and Engineering in Vienna. In 1973 he became President of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design . From 1977 to 1993 he was a full professor and head of the master class for metal product design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna . Carl Auböck has been an independent architect and designer since 1955 and from then on developed products such as ski clothing, cutlery and a research microscope.
