Carl Baumann

Carl Baumann (born December 31, 1868 in Frechen near Cologne ; † March 12, 1939 there ) was a German politician (center).

Live and act

After attending elementary school and high school , Baumann was trained as a farmer. After several years of apprenticeship on foreign estates, he took over his parents' estate in Forst (Haus Forst). At the local level he became a member of the municipal council and mayor's council as well as an alderman and deputy chairman of the church council. In addition, there was an honorary position as an agricultural expert for the higher regional court district in Cologne. He was also the first chairman of the agricultural employers' association in Cologne and a board member of the Christian peasantry.

Baumann was politically active in the Catholic Center Party , for which he sat from December 1924 to May 1928 as a member of the Reichstag for constituency 23 (Cologne-Aachen) .
