Carl Burgemeister (born May 16, 1868 ; † November 11, 1927 ) was a German architect and building contractor who was mainly active in Saarbrücken .

Life

Burgemeister was possibly a younger brother of Ludwig Burgemeister and thus a son of Christian and Lina Burgemeister. In 1900 he lived in the house at Dudweilerstraße 43 in St. Johann (Saar) . At that time he was listed in the address book as an architect and contractor.

buildings

Several of Burgemeister's buildings are now under monument protection :

  • In 1898, the residential building at Rosenstrasse 14 in Saarbrücken was built according to Burgemeister's plans.
  • The house at Blücherstraße 6 in the Saarbrücken district of St. Arnual dates from 1899.
  • The semi-detached house at Blücherstraße 20 was built in 1904–1905.
  • In 1907 the house at Am Staden 29 in St. Johann was built according to his plans.
  • The semi-detached house at Am Staden 27 was built in 1909.
  • Villa Am Staden 18 dates from 1910.
  • The Villa Am Staden 17 was built in 1923. For many years it was the seat of the Mining Authority and was due to be auctioned in 2008.
