Carl Capotorto

Carl Capotorto (born January 16, 1959 in Bronx , New York City , United States ) is an American actor . He became known to a wider audience through his role as "Little" Paulie Germani in the television series The Sopranos .

Acting career

Carl Capotorto is a graduate of Columbia University in New York City. He graduated as a playwright . His first role was in the film Penguins in the Bronx (1987). So began his humble career in which he starred in one film a year for the next five years. Mac (1992), written and directed by John Turturro , was the last of them. He hadn't been offered any roles for the next seven years, and finally had no agent either. Then he got a call for a casting for the television series The Sopranos . David Chase had seen him in Mac and slated for the role of Ralphie Cifaretto. After eight casting dates and two months later, Chase praised him for his performances, but informed him that he was too young for the role. Surprisingly, a few weeks later he was accepted for the role of "Little" Paulie Germani.

Writing career

Capotorto realized early on that he liked to write texts. That's why he took a journalism course in college . However, he quickly realized that it is more creative writing that is more important to him. His teacher praises him for his short stories. He wrote dramaturgical texts for several years. He later trained in script writing. In 2008 his book Twisted Head: An Italian-American Memoir was published .
