Carl Cevin-Key Coste

Carl Cevin-Key Coste (born September 5, 1996 ) is a German politician ( FDP ). Since 2016 he has been chairman of the Junge Liberalen Hamburg and develops political goals for the FDP.

Life

Coste was born in Hamburg and grew up in the districts of Hamburg-Bergedorf and Hamburg-Harburg and graduated from the Heisenberg High School. In addition to his school career, Coste was involved with the Johanniter and built up the school medical service at his school . He is a youth group leader and trainer in the youth organization Johanniter-Jugend . In the summer he organizes and looks after socially disadvantaged children from Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania a children's summer leisure time from the Johanniter relief community Hamburg / Greifswald. Coste has been studying law at Bucerius Law School since 2015, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Law in 2019.

Political activity

When the FDP moved out of the Bundestag in 2013, Coste's political commitment began. In 2014 he became district chairman of the Young Liberals in Harburg and supported the FDP in the European and district elections. In 2015 he ran next to the Abitur for the Hamburg citizenship in 34th place, through the personality voices he moved to 11th place but it was not enough for entry into parliament and since 2015 he has been a member of the state board of the FDP Hamburg . From 2015 to 2020, Carl Coste was a research associate for the member of parliament Daniel Oetzel and took over the state chairmanship of the Young Liberals in Hamburg from Oetzel in 2016. In 2017, Carl ran for the FDP in the federal elections as a direct candidate in the Bergedorf-Harburg constituency. The FDP moved back into the Bundestag, but it was not enough for Coste to move in. In 2018, Coste took over the political issue of civil rights and headed the Federal Working Group inside the youth organization of the FDP. In 2019, the Julis Hamburg elected him the top candidate of the Hamburg citizenship and Coste ran for 5th place in the list of the FDP, but the FDP did not make it into the Hamburg citizenship with 4.9%.

Political positions

Coste advocates a social liberal policy with a focus on: civil rights, mobility, housing, education and digitization.
