Carl Cromme

Carl Cromme (also Karl Cromme ; born September 27, 1908 in Damme ; † in the 20th century) was a German civil engineer and architect , town planner , ministerial advisor and senator .

Life

Cromme was the son of the pharmacist Karl or Carl Julius Cromme (1869–1934) and his wife Antonia, called Toni, née Bothe (1875–?). His oldest brother was the pharmacist and politician Anton Cromme , the second oldest brother was the engineer Hans Cromme . He attended the technical universities in Dresden, Munich and Berlin. In 1933 he became a qualified engineer .

From 1939 to 1945 he worked in the Reichsbauverwaltung. Since 1954 he has been the department head for construction in the city of Osnabrück . In his last assignment he was a ministerial advisor in the supreme state planning authority at the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior .

Cromme was chairman of the building committee of the Lower Saxony Association of Cities and a member of the building committee of the German Association of Cities . He was also the chairman of the Osnabrück Architects' Association and a member of the International Society of Urban and Regional Planners.

Honors

On February 10, 1972, Cromme was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st Class, for his special services as Head of City Planning in Osnabrück . The Carl-Cromme-Weg in Osnabrück was named after him.
