Carl Emil Baagøe
Carl Emil Baagøe (born August 22, 1829 in Copenhagen , † April 16, 1902 in Snekkersten ) was a Danish sea painter .
Life
His parents were Jan Hansen Baagøe and Dorthea Frederikke, née Hendriksen. Baagøe attended the art academy for a short time , after which he continued his self-taught education. Every year he mainly exhibited pictures of Danish fishing villages and marine pictures with mostly calm seas. He drew for the Illustreret Tidende since 1859 .
Study trips took him to Iceland in 1855 , to Norway in 1866 and 1868 .
