Carl Fredrik Fallén (born September 22, 1764 in Kristinehamn , † August 26, 1830 in Lund ) was a Swedish entomologist and professor of natural history .

Fallén enrolled as a student in Uppsala in 1783 and in Lund in 1786. He received his master's degree in 1790 and became a lecturer in biology and economics in Lund in 1792 . In 1810 Fallén was appointed professor and shortly afterwards his wages were adjusted accordingly. The official promotion to professor of natural history took place in 1812, which he succeeded his teacher Anders Jahan Retzius in office. Fallén was the first in a series of eminent entomologists from Lund University and is considered by many of his colleagues to be the founder of the local entomological collection. From 1818 to 1819 he was rector of the university. From 1810 Fallén was an elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences , which had a commemorative medal minted in his honor in 1855. He has published 81 scientific works, mostly on insects , and has contributed to a variety of articles for the Academy's journal.
