Carl Fromm

Carl Fromm (baptized April 21, 1758 in Großbartloff ; † January 28, 1820 there ) was a German businessman , Raschmacher , economist and member of parliament .

Fromm was the son of Martin Fromm (1727–1797). The father was a factory owner, Kurmainzischer Hofkammerrat and member of the rural tax deputation on the part of the estates at the land tax office of Eichsfeld. The mother was Anna Martha nee Degenhardt. Fromm, who was a Catholic denomination, married Sophie Lutterberg around 1802 (1782–23 May 1839). His sister Maria Dorothea Fromm married the wine merchant Valentin Meilhaus , who also became a member of the imperial estates.

Fromm was a merchant and economist in Großbartloff. Together with his brothers Anton and Ignatz Fromm, he inherited the Raschmacher company "Martin Fromm & Sons", a textile company with a worldwide reputation. The main focus of his work was the management of his almost 200-acre farm. From 1808 to 1813 he was a member of the district council of the district of Heiligenstadt . From 1808 to 1813 he was a member of the departmental electoral college of the department of Harz and from June 2, 1808 to October 26, 1813 a member of the imperial estates of the Kingdom of Westphalia for the Harz department and the electoral group of landowners.
