Carl Georg Theodor Kortum
Carl Georg Theodor Kortum (born May 29, 1765 in Dortmund , † February 9, 1847 in Stolberg (Rhineland) ) was a German doctor .
Life
Carl Theodor Kortum was born in Dortmund on May 29, 1765. He studied in Göttingen and received his doctorate in 1785. He was the author of numerous medical publications, and Kortumstrasse in Stolberg was named after him.
He had three children who also worked as doctors:
- Kortum, Carl Leonhard, Dr. med. (1803–1836), father of the Bonn mathematics professor Hermann Kortum
- Kortum, Wilhelm Theodor, Dr. med. (1808–1895)
- Kortum, Johann August, Dr. med (1820)
The Bochum doctor Carl Arnold Kortum (1745-1824) was his cousin.
