Carl Gerard Dubusc

Carl Gerard Dubusc (born August 6, 1825 in Aachen ; † January 22, 1903 there ) was a German royal Prussian state procurator and mayor of the city of Aachen .

Live and act

The son of the scratch manufacturer Carl Josef Dubusc (1798–1827) and Bernhardine Heusch (1805–1834), co-founder of the Aachen Marianneninstitut , studied at the universities of Bonn and Berlin after finishing school. He then began his professional career as a Prussian administrative officer and was most recently active as a royal Prussian state procurator in the rank of a secret councilor.

In addition to his official duties, Dubusc was involved in a variety of ways on a political, economic and social level. In 1876, for example, he was one of the co-founders of Aachen-Leipziger-Versicherungs-AG and was later elected to the city council of Aachen. After retiring from civil service, estimated around 1890, he took over the office of mayor of the city of Aachen.

In addition, Dubusc was for many years president of the poor administration and the Aachener Liedertafel as well as chairman of the Karlsverein for the restoration of the Aachen cathedral and a member of the Club Aachener Casino .

Honors

For his services as a board member of the German Red Cross in caring for the wounded in the Franco-Prussian War , Dubusc was awarded the IVth Class Crown Order with a red wreath on a white field. In addition, he was awarded the Red Eagle Order III for his services to the interests of the city . Class excellent.

family

Carl Gerard Dubusc was first married to Antonia Kesselkaul (1827–1868), with whom he had four daughters and three sons. After Antonia's early death, Dubusc married Euphrosine von Hoselt (1836–1885) in a second marriage, but this connection remained childless. Carl Gerard Dubusc found his final resting place in Aachen's Ostfriedhof .
