Carl Graf von Hardenberg

Carl Graf von Hardenberg (* 19th July 1893 in Rammelburg , Mansfeld Mountain District ; † 19th October 1965 in Goettingen ) was a farmer, businessman and district administrator of the district Northeim .

Life

Graf von Hardenberg initially became a professional soldier and in 1921 took over the management of the Fideikommiss in Hardenberg . In the same year he became a member of the board of directors of the Nörten dairy cooperative and in 1924 a member of the board of directors of the Nörten sugar factory, which his father co-founded . A few years later, he took over the chairmanship of both. He took part in the Second World War as a major and division adjutant. After the end of the war, as a district farmer, he became head of the Northeim district agricultural office. From 1956 to 1958 he was district administrator of the Northeim district .

In addition to agriculture and forestry, Hardenberg was particularly interested in the sugar industry. He was a co-founder of the Sugar Economic Association and since its founding in 1949 chairman of the inner board.
