Carl Laemmle Producer Award

The Carl Laemmle Producer Award is awarded by the Alliance of German Producers - Film & Television together with Carl Laemmle's native city of Laupheim and is the first independent German producer award annually to honor the life's work of an outstanding producer personality and at the same time generally represents “the special performance of the producers in the creative and economic process of filmmaking in a special way ”. The award is endowed with 40,000 euros. The award ceremony takes place in Laupheim, the birth town of Carl Laemmle, every year in mid-March during the founding week of Universal City Studios (March 15, 1915). Dieter Kosslick has been the chairman of the jury since 2019.

Excellent producer personalities

At the start in 2017, Roland Emmerich was awarded the first Carl Laemmle Producer Award, followed in the second year by Regina Ziegler . In the same year Artur Brauner was honored on the occasion of his 100th birthday with the special prize of the jury - the Carl Laemmle Prize of Honor. In 2019 Stefan Arndt was awarded the Carl Laemmle Producer Award for his life's work to date.
