Carl Muhlmann

Carl Mühlmann (born September 16, 1882 ; † 1960 ) was a German politician and functionary of the GDR bloc party LDPD . He was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament and the GDR regional chamber .

Life

Mühlmann became a career officer and civil servant. After 1918 he worked as a senior government councilor in the Reich Archives in Potsdam . Before 1933 he belonged to the German People's Party (DVP).

After the Second World War he joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDPD) in 1945, became a member of the Kulturbund (KB) and the Society for German-Soviet Friendship (DSF). In 1945/46 he was deputy mayor, from 1946 city councilor for health care and from 1952 again deputy mayor of Potsdam. From 1946 to 1960 he acted as chairman of the LDPD district committee in Potsdam. From January to March 1946 he was secretary of the LDPD state committee in Brandenburg . From July 1948 to July 1952 he was 2nd Chairman of the Brandenburg State Executive. On February 27, 1949, he was elected a member of the party's central executive committee at the 3rd party congress of the LDPD in Eisenach .

From 1946 to 1952 he was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament and chairman of the input committee during the first electoral term. During the 2nd electoral term from 1950 to 1952 he was chairman of the LDP parliamentary group. On November 10, 1949 he was elected to the provisional chamber of the GDR by the Brandenburg state parliament. He was then a member of the regional chamber until 1958 and from 1954 vice-president and chairman of the LDPD parliamentary group. From 1954 to 1958 he was also a member of the Potsdam district assembly . In 1955 he was elected to the central board of DSF.
