Carl Moss
Carl Moos (born October 29, 1878 in Munich , † July 9, 1959 in Zurich ) was a German-Swiss commercial artist and illustrator .
Together with Friedrich Heubner , Valentin Zietara , Emil Preetorius , Max Schwarzer and Franz Paul Glass , he founded the artists' cooperative Die Sechs in Munich , one of the first artist groups to market advertising contracts.
His motifs were often printed on beer mugs in 1910. He also made several Munich Kindl motifs postcards. In 1914 he created a whole series of postcards depicting the life of a Swiss soldier.
Carl Moos gained fame for his sports posters. At the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam , Moos won the silver medal for Switzerland as a graphic designer at the art competitions for his work “Athletic Poster” .
