Carl Othmer

Carl Othmer (born September 17, 1951 in Celle ; † November 12, 2019 ) was a German lawyer and state councilor in Bremen .

biography

Othmer completed an administration apprenticeship in the municipality of Wietze from 1968 to 1970 . From 1979 to 1986 he studied law , political and social sciences . After completing his military service from 1973 to 1979 and after completing his studies from 1986 to 1990, he worked in various areas of the state administration of Lower Saxony . He belonged to the SPD . In 1990 he became head of the ministerial office, the department for cross-school matters and the department for vocational education in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education and Culture . He rose to the position of ministerial director . In 2007 he was appointed to the Bremen State Council at the Senator for Education and Science as a representative in the education sector of Senator Renate Jürgens-Pieper . He succeeded Göttrik Wewer in this office . After the senator's resignation in December 2012, his work as a State Councilor also ended. He was succeeded as State Councilor Gerd-Rüdiger Kück.
