Carl Schotten
Carl Schotten (born July 12, 1853 in Marburg , † January 9, 1910 ) was a German chemist. He received his doctorate from the University of Berlin (today's Humboldt University of Berlin ). His doctoral supervisor was August Wilhelm von Hofmann . Together with Eugen Baumann , he described today's name reaction of the Schotten-Baumann method in 1883 .
