Carl Seiler (painter)
Carl Wilhelm Anton Seiler (born August 3, 1846 in Wiesbaden , † February 26, 1921 in Munich ) was a German genre painter.
Carl Seiler studied painting in Berlin at the Royal Prussian Academy of the Arts , then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Karl Raupp (1837–1918). Carl Seiler was elected a member of the Berlin Academy in 1895.
He painted in the style of the Dutch genre painters of the 17th and 18th centuries.
In the 1890s he exhibited his works in the Munich Glass Palace . For his works he was awarded an honorary prize at the Paris Salon des Artistes Indépendants in 1903.
