Carl Versen

Carl August Versen (born January 21, 1809 in Beverungen , † October 31, 1871 in Hamm ) was a German lawyer and politician.

Life

Originally from a farming family home verses studied 1826-1829 jurisprudence at the University of Bonn , the University of Göttingen and the University of Berlin . He was then an auscultator and trainee lawyer , before he became a higher regional court assessor in 1838, first in Werne and from 1844 in Paderborn . In 1846, Versen moved to Nieheim as the district and city court director .

From May 18, 1848 to May 20, 1849 Versen was a non-attached MP for the 6th Westphalian constituency ( Brackel ) in the Frankfurt National Assembly . After the failure of the National Assembly, he took part in the Gotha post-parliament in 1849 .

In 1851 Versen became a district judge in Paderborn, and from 1858 until his death he was a judge of appeal at the Hamm Higher Regional Court .

From 1863 to 1867 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives , where he was part of the left center.
