Carl Weingartz (born April 13, 1912 in Lendersdorf ; † November 6, 1990 ) was a graphic artist , painter and sculptor from the Düren district of Lendersdorf.

Life

His parents were Christian and Franziska Weingartz. Carl was the first of four children.

Weingartz learned the profession of commercial graphic designer after attending school . He then studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts . In 1945 he moved back to his hometown. He painted the landscape destroyed by the fighting in World War II, especially in the Hürtgen Forest . He also illustrated many books, e.g. B. from Tillmann Gottschalk .

After the war he created many symbols for large companies, e.g. B. Henkel in Düsseldorf and Hoesch in Dortmund.

Carl Weingartz was married and had four children.

Honors

In Lendersdorf, Carl-Weingartz-Strasse was named after Weingartz.
