Carl Wilhelm Cederhielm

Carl Wilhelm Cederhielm (* 1705 ; † 1769 ) was a Swedish baron (today Montgomery ) and chamberlain and co-founder of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences .

Life

After the death of his father in 1730, Cederhielm took over the Lindholmen estate and married Margareta von Strokirch the following year. At the Reichstag in 1734, Cederhielm proposed the establishment of a monastery for unmarried, noble daughters, which was established in Vadstena Castle by resolution of the Reichstag in 1738 .

The following year he was present at Riddarhuset on June 2 , when the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences was founded. A few years earlier, such a start-up attempt together with Sten Bielke had failed.

Together with his cousin Arvid Ehrenmalm, he traveled to Lapland in 1741 to assess the areas in terms of agriculture and development. They visited u. a. Sollefteå , Resele , Junsele and Åsele . The results were published by the memorial in Resa igenom Wäster-Norrland til Åsehle lappmark .
