Carl Wilhelm Traugott von Mayer
Carl Wilhelm Traugott von Mayer (born October 15, 1796 in Löbau ; † August 17, 1864 ) was a German lawyer , manor owner and member of the Saxon state parliament .
origin
Mayer was the son of the lawyer and court director Konrad Traugott Mayer († 1801). In 1822 he married the daughter of Chamberlain Johann Carl Adolf von Nostitz , Thuskia von Nostitz († 1830).
education
He received private lessons at home from an early age and then attended high school in his hometown. At Easter 1814 he began to study law at the University of Leipzig , where he also dealt with philosophy and history . In the fall of 1817 he passed the exam .
Career
After studying Mayer was 1818 Spezialreskript among the lawyers of the Oberlausitz added, after which he worked as a lawyer in the region. After an official announcement on April 10, 1822, he was raised to the nobility by the Saxon King Friedrich August I and from then on lived with his wife in the country. In 1829 he acquired the Lieske manor with the associated village of Oßling . It was Mayer in the supernatants shank added Oberlausitz and 1833 in the II. Chamber of Saxon Parliament chosen as representative of the Rittergutsbesitzer Oberlausitz. He remained a member of parliament until 1849.
After the death of his wife in 1830, after a protracted inheritance dispute with the von Nostitz family, he inherited Niederruppersdorf Castle . In 1836 Mayer of the provincial diets Oberlausitz to Landesbestallten chosen and awarded the philosophical doctorate in the same year by the University of Leipzig.
He died in 1864 at the age of 67.
Family coat of arms
The family coat of arms shows a white wall of seven layers in the blue field, which rises obliquely in steps to the left. The lower four layers of the wall from the right to the left edge of the shield, the fifth and sixth, from which a piece has broken out in the middle, do not extend to the right edge of the shield. Only a part of the top seventh layer is on the left edge of the shield. A silver hexagonal star hovers over the wall. On the shield is a helmet with three ostrich feathers, of which the middle one is covered with the star of the shield. The helmet covers are blue and silver.
